This is Greg Carrobis, Editor and Gamemaster on Ghosts on a Train, which is about three people with the dangerous job of keeping trains safe from spirits as they travel through the harsh deathlands between the relative safety of electrically domed cities. This is Episode 43 - Templeton Unspooled (featuring Cai Gwilym Prichard). This is an Actual Play, a story found by playing the game Ghost Lines which was designed by John Harper. Our players (also known as Line Bulls) are: Hannah Levin, who portrays Andrel Anderson. Andrel is a 13 year old orphan who stowed away on a train, and now finds that risking her life facing ghosts is a better prospect than starving in an orphanage. Guy Zwiebel, who portrays Pippin McKeel. Pippin is a wretched drunk who might be nearly 30, and the notion that his career might kill him doesn't bother him at all. Stefen Lewis, who portrays Drix Belisle. Drix is an unusually optimistic cowboy in his 20s, and getting to save people is worth the unglamorous life on the ghost lines to him. Our usual players are joined by Andrel's pet riding dorg Ji'mani as well as a guest player- Cai Gwilym Prichard, who portrays Timoth going by the Line Bull badge name “Templeton”. Timoth is not a Line Bull and is in reality an actor shadowing the three Line Bulls to bring authenticity to his next performance, but the Line Bulls are not aware of this fact. Where the episode begins, the Line Bulls and Timoth are exploring the still living bones of a Leviathan called Sogmoroth. They search for a body part from the Leviathan called a spectrogellum, that the Bulls fear will be put to some nefarious purpose. Sogmoroth's corpse was mined out by humans in the distant past, but they met tragic ends and their spirits are said to still haunt the Leviathan's interior. This did not stop other enterprising humans from using Sogmoroth’s bones as a zoo, filling the Leviathan with a menagerie and cheap attractions. Flooding from the already deteriorating frame was the demise of the Zoo but not of the creatures inside. The Zoo has been abandoned for decades and is now an overgrown supernatural ecosystem unique to the world. Only Line Bulls who venture out into the deathlands could possibly enter and hope to come out alive. Upon entry, the Line Bulls and Timoth are assaulted by an aggressive coral plant that menaces with tentacles, and has left Timoth possibly falling to his death. So the fate of the actor Timoth is in the hands of his three unknowing chaperones. Thank you for Listening.
