MATERNAL MUSINGS
It is my duty, his birth to give,
To raise him strong, to help him live.
His father’s task, to train him well,
A warrior’s path, where brave men dwell.
The blacksmith’s role, his spear to mold,
With sharpened blade and hilt of gold.
The king must grant a standing high,
A place of honor beneath the sky.
The young man’s duty is to fight,
Sword in hand, with all his might.
To slay the foe and claim the field,
And home return with victory sealed.
