ABOUT THE POEM:

This is a translated version of a delightful poem NOSTALGIA from Tamil literature. This poem is all about what the husband told his wife on his return from a distant country. The man confesses that the flora and fauna he encountered during his sojourn reminded him of her sweet scents and stares.

NOSTALGIA

The peacocks frolicking  movements

Made me remember your gallant strides.

The Jasmine blossoms unfurling

reminds the lovely aroma of your forehead

That bashful stare of a deer

mimics your own demeanor.

My heart was wrought with your thoughts.

So I galloped back to you,

Faster than the whirlwind clouds.
