He is the founder of World Hunger Team, a Nashville, Tennessee based non-profit organization dedicated to helping end the world hunger crisis. Putala is also founder of the Senior Benefits Foundation, a non-profit helping to educate seniors on making better choices for Social Security and Medicare. Putala plays saxophone, flute, mandolin and guitar and enjoys jazz music, gourmet cooking, theater and art.
