Douglas R. Long retired from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) in February 2022 after over 30 years of service, including as a Special Agent in Charge. He worked on homicide and violent crime investigations and held supervisory roles. In 2019, he became the Special Agent in Charge of Middle Tennessee, overseeing healthcare fraud investigations. Prior to TBI, he worked for The Kroger Company as a Division Security Investigator. Douglas has been married for 37 years, enjoys watching Predators hockey, and riding his motorcycle to discover hidden restaurants in Tennessee and Kentucky.
About Sentinel Training Services, LLC
Sentinel Training Services, LLC specializes in training church security teams. They use a state-of-the-art use of force simulator, similar to what law enforcement agencies use, to simulate real-life situations without any consequences. They alter scenarios based on the trainees' performance and provide de-escalation tips and feedback after each scenario. Sentinel was started to provide specialized training to people who serve on their church security teams, as many of them have no law enforcement or military experience. The training allows them to make decisions in confrontations and see the results of their actions, which could help minimize injury in potential situations at churches.
