This week on The Diamond Duo Podcast, Tom and Tony send off the first half of the season by recapping the festivities of All Star Week! The duo began with the Futures Game despite not being able to watch it (thank for that one Peacock). The two highlight the most noteworthy prospects on display including two Yankees youngsters and the future A's backstop who took home MVP. With baseball's future on the mind, the duo shifted gears to cover the recent MLB Draft. Some of the biggest names off the board in the first round such as Druw Jones, Kumar Rocker, and first overall pick, Jackson Holliday are discussed in detail throughout this segment. Their focus is then turned towards the two main events: the Home Run Derby and the All Star Game. No stone is left unturned nor story left untold as the duo go over Julio Rodriguez's incredible HRD debut, Albert Pujols' first round upset, some fun mic'd up moments from the All Star Game, and the heroics from Giancarlo Stanton and Byron Buxton to give the American League its 9th (!!) straight ASG victory! Capped off with a few secondary stories and a snake draft of the greatest players from the season's first half, and you get one of our most jam-packed episodes to date! Be sure to vote on which Team Of The First Half you think is better on Twitter and Instagram and tune in next week to hear the announcement of the winner! But for now, kick back and help us close out the first half here on Episode 34 of The Diamond Duo Podcast!
