Surabaya traditional market adopts cashless transaction method
. Selasa, 28 September 2021 ,

Surabaya municipal-owned traditional market operator company PD Pasar Surya has adopted a digital cashless transaction method in a Surabaya traditional market to offer convenience to market merchants and customers.

PD Pasar Surya Finance Director Sutjahjo stated that the cashless transaction method will be first applied in the monthly market service fee payment system wherein usually cash payment is made by market merchants, with the likelihood of expanding coverage of the cashless payment method in future.

Transition to the cashless transaction method would be advantageous for market merchants, as they could pay the market service fee from anywhere and at any time, without the need to hand over cash to the market operator staff, he explained.

Transition to cashless transactions would make the money deposit process more direct as the payment is transferred directly to PD Pasar Surya's bank account, he pointed out.

BNI Bank will provide a virtual account number for every market merchant, and the merchant's data and phone number will be integrated into the virtual account data, he noted.
The finance director confirmed that the cashless transaction system will be implemented first at the Kapasan Market that has been designated as a pilot for the system's adoption.

He affirmed that the adoption of cashless payment would be conducted in stages and ensure the possible future implementation at Surabaya's other major traditional markets, pending evaluation of the implementation at the Kapasan Market.
