Description

The story of Rawa Pening tells of Baro Klinting, a dragon, the son of Endang Sawitri, the daughter of the village head of Ngasem. Due to a curse, Endang Sawitri had to conceive and give birth to a child in the form of a dragon alone. Baro Klinting went to Mount Telomoyo to be imprisoned in order to escape the curse so that he could transform into a human child in general. He meditated by wrapping his dragon body up to the top of Mount Telomoyo. Unfortunately, there was a group of Pathok Village residents who were hunting and did not see the overall form of Baro Klinting. They only saw Baro Klinting's tail and cut up Baro Klinting's tail meat to take back to their village. Baro Klinting who has succeeded in hermitage and transformed into a human child also came to the Pathok residents. However, the condition of his shabby body and full of wounds resulted in the rejection of the residents. Baro Klinting also challenged the residents to pull out a stick stuck in the ground. Miraculously, no one was able to pull it out, not even the most burly adults. Only Baro Klinting managed to pull out the stick. After being pulled out, water came out so heavy from the ground that the water drowned the whole city. Because the water is clear then the place is called rawa pening.
