Description

Medication can help reduce symptoms of hyperactivity, inattentiveness, and impulsivity in children and adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).  However, medications come with side effects and risks—and they’re not the only treatment option. Whether you’re the parent or the patient, it’s important to learn the facts about ADHD medication so you can make an informed decision about what’s best.

Medication doesn’t cure ADHD. It can relieve symptoms while it’s being taken, but once medication stops, those symptoms come back. Also, ADHD medication helps some more than others. Some people experience dramatic improvement while others experience only modest gains.

Please listen to this episode (my 40th) as I discuss all the different types of medication and what it can do, also I discuss my personal experiences with how I started on medication, my side effects and how I got to where I am today.
