Patricia calls this ‘non-egoic shared unity.’ She talks about how people, when accessing this sacred and interconnected state of being, operate from a different source of identity almost as if they are a superorganism. We have all seen this unitive flow state displayed by a sports team or an orchestra. It also exists among the Navy Seals and it enabled the 911 rescue workers to respond at ground zero with high levels of clarity, orchestration, speed, and an orientation toward what works and what is most efficient and generative.
