Caterina Mascia began her contemporary dance training with the youth ensemble J.E.T. under the direction of Ulla Geiges. At the age of 16, she took part in the exchange programme "EU-China Arts Summer School" in Beijing as a representative of Germany. In the following years she was a member of the Junior Company Index of the two choreographers Amelie Jalowy and Guido Markowitz. She was a guest dancer at the Theater Dortmund and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, among others. In addition to her dance career, Caterina Mascia studied humanities at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and completed a Master's degree in Romance Studies: Cultural Contacts and Communication. Since October 2014, she has been a project manager at the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Tanz NRW.
