Movies of the Week: 

*Silverton Siege: Follows three young freedom fighters who seek refuge in a South African bank in Silverton, and take the bank and its customers hostage and would only release them in exchange for the release of Nelson Mandela. Starring Thabo Rametsi, Stefan Erasmus and Noxolo Diamini. Directed by Mandla Dube, Written by Sabelo Mgidi. 

*Crush: An aspiring young artist joins her high school track team and later discovers what real love feels like when she finds herself falling for an unexpected teammate. Starring Rowan Blanchard, Auli’i Cravalho and Isabelle Ferreira. Directed by Sammi Cohen, Written by Kirsten King and Casey Rackham. *Peace By Chocolate: After the bombing of his father's chocolate factory, a charming young Syrian refugee struggles to settle into his new small-town life, caught between following his dream and preserving his family's legacy. Starring Hatem Ali and Ayham Abou Ammar. Directed by Jonathan Keijser who wrote alongside Abdul Malik.  

*Hatching: A young gymnast who tries desperately to please her demanding mother, discovers a strange egg. She hides it and keeps it warm, but when it hatches, what emerges shocks them all. Starring Siiri Solalinna, Sophia Heikkilä, Jani Volanen and Reino Nordin. Directed by Hanna Bergholm, Written by Ilja Rautsi.

*Pompo the Cinephile: The movie centers on Joelle Davidovich Pomponette (Pompo-san), a talented film producer at the movie capital "Nyallywood." Despite her prowess to see through to the potential of actors and staff and bring out their talent to the fullest, she has only been producing B-class action and erotic films.  Starring Brianna Gentiella. Directed and written by Takayuki Hirao based on the manga by Shôgo Sugitani. 

*Hello, Bookstore: In the shadow of the pandemic, a small town rallies to protect a beloved local bookstore. DOCUMENTARY. Directed by A.B. Zax.  

*Fiddler’s Journey to the Big Screen: The Fall of 2021 marked the 50th anniversary of Fiddler on the Roof, the film Pauline Kael of The New Yorker called "the most powerful movie musical ever made." Narrated by Jeff Goldblum, FIDDLER'S JOURNEY TO THE BIG SCREEN captures the humor and drama of director Norman Jewison's quest to recreate the lost world of Jewish life in Tsarist Russia and re-envision the beloved stage hit as a wide-screen epic.  DOCUMENTARY Directed by Daniel Raim.
