Legal system failed a nine year old girl who is mentally challenged in slums of Kawangware after being defiled by a neighbor aged 39years old. The caregiver of the girl wasn't aware if the child was defiled by a monster in the area while playing with other children. However, a call from the Headteacher was another nightmare after being told to visit the school only to be told her 9 year old child is pregnant. The shock from the caregiver led them to Nairobi Women hospital only to be told the girl is 5months pregnant. Authority coming in to arrest a man who raped the girl and after few days the man was granted a bond hence walking freely. However, after being free the man accepted doing the act and promising to take care of the kid which hasn't happened. Poverty situation for the caregiver and a young mother of Nine forcing a well wisher to come in,promising to take care of the child only.
