Market House Studios interviews sign painting artist Lisa Wigham and Suzanne Pinder  about the "Pride and Place" Sign Painting Exhibition which continues until March 29th 2025 @ Fleetwood Market Gallery Tuesdays,Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, 9am-4pm

These art works have been made by local participants in workshops held at Market House Studios with Lisa Wigham, an artist who shares endangered craft skills of traditional sign painting.

As a collective the group explored the town to find traces of hand made signs- such as the lettering cast iron grids, masons marks carved in stone, mosaic tilesand faded 'ghost' signage on shop fronts.

During these adventures in 'sign spotting' the group explored the historic architecture and curious back streets, met people along the way to talk about ancient and modern myths, historic events and unique personality of Fleetwood-which inspired the artworks you will see in this exhibition.

‘This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.’
