“I can’t explain the magic it is for a singer to sing.” Vortex, welcome to our new favorite episode. We invite you to join us for this reclamation of the singers that we are. This hour is an ode to music, to the magic of the voice, the pain and trauma of our singing journeys, and a loud recommitment to being ourselves FULLY in all that we do.
In true soul sister fashion, we end up discussing far beyond just the physical voice - but ALL that it entails to be fully ourselves, show up in our deepest authenticity, and live a life outside of the box that the world has asked us to neatly fit within. We talk about the lifelong nature of the vocal healing journey and the glimmers of hope & mystical moments that we find along the way (often in the form of channeled mantra songs that glitch out the matrix, hah).
We also touch on unlearning “good girl” conditioning and the idea art can’t come through urgency because the nature of the creative path is slow and seasonal. Maya shares a poem that she fully channeled in her devotional practice about the utter pain and sorrow of feeling unable to communicate her soul through her voice, which ends with a glimmer of hope. We love you. Thank you for being here.
