Description

This episode is part 1 of 3. We set out a goal to create space for both white and black people to come together and have conversations about the negative and the positive aspects of being a black person in America. Kathleen and Aubrie ask their guests, Candace and Sasha, questions on what it is like growing up black, what's appropriate and inappropriate when in come to hair and touching it, and touch on the heavy topic of what conversations they have with their children when it comes to their safety and police brutality. They brought up great points on what we as white parents can be talking about with our white kids on the subject of police brutality and the black experience. We conclude with asking about the phrase "angry black woman" and what that is even about.

We at The Christian and the Atheist Podcast want to give a huge thank you to both Sasha and Candace for being open to having these conversations and helping us understand and become better allies.
Happy Black History Month to all our black brothers and sisters.
