As a stutterer, I learned the value of words and the privilege that it is to speak, and yet so many abuse that gift with empty, vain boastfulness. We are nothing without direction, without God, without Scripture and truth to guide us, because the Word of God echoes the voice of the Holy Spirit within us. With it, comes awakened wisdom that is like bringing a dead man back to life, and in believing in Christ, it's never just one momentous decision of salvation, but the everlasting, inner-working progression of sharpening our hearts, our minds, our tongues, and our souls toward a worthy purpose that will change the world for the better.
