When Jesus called his first disciples, he didn’t promise to make them famous, smarter, holy, more spiritual, a better husband, wife, richer, or more organized. The call of Jesus was a simple one. Follow me and I will make you fishers of men. To be a follower of Jesus is to fish because followers fish. We are called to do for someone else what someone else has done for us.
