As Moses looked at Mount Sinai, that had all the characteristics of an active volcano, and knew he was going to be climbing it, he had one perspective. This was the perspective from the ground, among the people, looking up at a cloud that obscured the glory of God. When he got to the top, he had another perspective that affected the way he saw both the people of Israel and how he saw God, Himself. It is highly likely that you have had several mountain top experiences in your life. Those are the moments where you have worked, climbed, struggled, fought, and grown until you got to a place of achievement where you saw things in a different light and had a time of peace and clarity while you celebrated. We have many of those moments throughout our lives, but the sad part is that we often take the wrong lessons away from those moments…we miss the point of them…or worse, we only remember the feeling of accomplishment and joy, but completely forget about any of the lessons we learned along the way that got us there in the first that place.
In this episode, we'll talk about proper perspective about others, about ourselves, and about God. We'll also talk about how to learn from previous mountaintop experiences so we can climb the mountain we are on right now.
