Description

On this week’s Social Action Briefing, hosts MSW student Craig Milch and Professor Jessica Mitchell are joined by MSW/MPH student Alexandria Hanna to review the results from the November 2nd general election: the good, the bad, and the ugly. They also discuss the effort by right-wing activists and fossil fuel lobbyists to undermine the EPA and all other regulatory agencies via the Supreme Court. Later on, Craig is joined by New York Social Action interns Sam White and Sarah Smith, who discuss the importance of social workers paying attention to political and policy developments on the local, state, and federal levels. Sarah and Sam also address the current challenges to abortion rights in the Supreme Court, including oral arguments made on Monday in the case challenging the Texas abortion law, SB8, which aims to ban all abortions.
