The Lord invites us in Hebrews 4:16 to come boldly to His throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (NIV).
Let us come before the Lord in prayer. .
Most gracious & merciful God,
You care about us and are interested in our well-being.
You didn't promise us that the world would be easy and you didn't say that there would be no problem or difficult situation, but you did promise us your mercy & grace - and you did say that you will be with us and that your grace would be sufficient for us.
Gracious & merciful God, the great Physician of our mind, body, soul & spirit - we lift up to you those among us who are stricken with all kinds of illnesses. We acknowledge you as the One who made us and who knows every fibre of our being. Your Word reminds us that we are "fearfully & wonderfully made."(Ps.139:14)
Since you are the almighty One who formed & created us - no one understands us more than you. You alone know the secrets of our body - and you alone understands the pain that our suffering brothers and sisters are going through.
And so, we come to you - to ask for your healing grace upon every one of them – bro. Patrick, who is stricken by the coronavirus and is still in critical condition; uncle Andrew Quek, who is recovering from a bladder surgery recently and will need another surgery on the 18 January; Choo Geck & Rebecca’s mother, as well as Ang Ling Ling’s sister – who are suffering from cancer. We place them into Your loving care and pray that in Your grace, You will comfort their heart and take away their anxieties. We commit them into your mighty healing hands. May your will be done in their life and body.
We bring before you all those that are elderly and frail. Be with John & Betty Chow, William Hwang, Betty Wee, and many others. Protect and preserve and keep them harm. Strengthen their faith and hope in you. Grant each one of them the comfort of your loving presence.
Guide the hands and bless the hearts of those who look after them. May those who attend to the sick and be kept safe and protected from exposure to the virus.
Most merciful & compassionate God. We ask for your peace to abide with those who have lost loved ones in the pandemic. We lift up to you Seow Ling and Kok Pheng who mourn the passing of their beloved brother, Kok Hwa, recently. Abide with them and with those who share their grief. Help them to find strength and peace in your presence.
God almighty, we acknowledge that you are indeed a God who sees and knows everything. You know who among us are hurting and you know what difficulties we are facing in our lives. We may not be able to make sense of every trial that comes OR understand your purpose in everything that happens to us – but we can place our trust in You – believing that you are the One who causes all things to work together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.
We thank you for listening to our prayers and petitions. We thank you and praise you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ, AMEN.
Prayer and Devotion led by Rev Goh Yong Kuang.
