PRAYER ...

The Lord promises us with these words in …

And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. 1 Jn.5:14 &15 (NLT)

Based on these unchanging words and promises of God, let us come before the Lord in prayer…

Almighty God, the one and only true and living God!  We bow to you in our hearts in humble acknowledgement of your goodness and faithfulness. You are indeed good to us!  Thank you for your amazing grace that is at work in our lives and for your blessings over us.  Teach us to be thankful in all circumstances. When things do not work out the way we want or expect, help us to be contented and to trust in Your plans and purposes for us.

Your Word invites us to come boldly to your throne of grace where we can find mercy and receive your undeserved grace (Heb.4:16).

Because you see all things and know all things, you know exactly what your children are going through right now.

Some of us are struggling with the pressures of life and living under the weight of mental and emotional stress. Some among us are struggling with loneliness and a sense of helplessness and hopelessness. Give hope to those who may be in despair today. Give them a hope that is greater than their fear. Show them the peace of trusting in Your Name. Shine on them with your mercy and grace. Give them joy in Your plans for their life.

Some among us are battling against crippling and debilitating illnesses.  Comfort these brothers and sisters in their sufferings and sustain them on their sickbeds. Keep their spirits high and cause their faith to look up to you. Protect those in the hospital from infectious germs that might exasperate their condition. Protect them from neglect or abuse. Bless the doctors and caregivers by granting them the wisdom and skills to provide the appropriate treatment. Restore the sick in a way that you receive the glory.

Your Word invites those of us who are weary and carry heavy burdens (Mt.11:28) to come to you so that we may find rest in you (Mt.11:28).  Help us to cast all our cares and concerns to you and to experience Your peace. Teach us to place our trust in you and not lean on our own understanding (Pr.3:5)

Although there is so much uncertainty in this world - we know for certain that nothing is beyond your sovereign control.  You are our source of strength and our daily sustenance. We may not have everything we want - but you are always faithful to provide everything we need. Strengthen our faith and bless all our endeavours to live and walk confidently in these increasingly challenging times – knowing that we do not walk alone, for you are constantly with us.

Thank you for the work that you are constantly doing in our lives through your Holy Spirit, whose purpose is to make us more & more like Jesus Christ. Thank you for your patience with us. Deliver us from things that hinder our growth and affect our walk with you. Help us put off the old self and to put on the new self. When your Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, help us to respond in humble repentance. Help us to walk in victory by constantly surrendering every aspect of our life to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Guide us in all that we do today and every day. May the life we live and the decision we make each day reflect your will & purpose for us and bring glory to your holy name!  Thank you for hearing our prayer, which we offer in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
