In Canada, churches are closing, yet statistics tell us that people are seeking spirituality more than ever before. Unfortunately, people seek to satisfy their thirst for significance in all the wrong places. Jesus calls out from the cross that he is thirsty. This was not just a physical need he had, he was pointing us to something deeper.
Jesus' thirst reminds us that our souls also thirst, looking for satisfaction. Unfortunately, we often look to quench our thirsty souls in all the wrong places. Only Jesus can meet that spiritual need.
