Fuck you and your communities - that’s the message yesterday from Christopher Luxon as he announced he was gutting the Local Government Act to remove the bits of the law that allow Councils to do the things that make a community a community. And of course the knock on effects are far reaching, deeply concerning and completely ignored by a government only focused on balance sheets as a marker of success.
