If there’s one place in the country where an Act candidate is more likely to be elected than any other, it’s East Auckland - with 3 Act candidates vying for one local board in an area Brooke Van Veldin is the MP, some of the richest people in the country live and the suburb next door is what’s known as a Vote Desert. Meanwhile in Howick there’s a heap of governance, life skills and experience on offer but only a few seats for them to fill.
