This week we go back in time with three-time premiership defender Mal Michael. Mal reminisces about his career, reflects on some of his favorite moments and people in the game.
Mal, born in Papua New Guinea, spent his childhood growing up in Queensland. He was picked up by the Collingwood Magpies as a rookie listed player in 1996. He spent four seasons in the black and white stripes, playing 61 games before moving to Brisbane. In his six seasons at Brisbane, he played 140 games and apart of three premiership winning teams. He finished his final two seasons in the AFL at Essendon, playing 37 games in the black and red.
In this chat, Mal talks about his early days at the Pies, playing on the big forwards, arriving at the Lions, the premierships, his well-known bump on Nick Riewoldt and how he arrived at the Bombers.
