Description

This week we go back in time with Melbourne midfielder Stephen Tingay.  Stephen reminisces about his career, reflects on some of his favourite moments and people in the game.

Stephen, a Shepparton native and remembered for his long blonde locks, began his career with Melbourne in 1989, playing 162 games in total before one season at the Sydney Swans. Stephen spent most of his career wearing one of the clubs most famous numbers, number 2, after the late great Robbie Flower. Nicknamed Stinga, Tingay won All Australian honours in 1994.

In this episode, Stephen talks about making his way to Melbourne, a life-threatening accident in the early stage of his career, the 1994 finals series, the temptation to head to Fremantle and his injuries.

A great listen with our thirty-second member of 'The 90's Club Footy Podcast'.
