Prophets Joel and Obadiah - Hope amid Judgment BSF Lesson 14
Passage: The Old Testament Prophetic Books of Joel and Obadiah
Judgement is a difficult concept. We don't like to be judged and the current cultural ethos around any kind of judgment makes it seem cruel and unfair. The Bible teaches us that God must judge because God is just. If we believed that he shouldn't judge evil and wickedness for all the devastation and destruction it causes, how loving would we be to allow such harm to fall on mankind?
God is just and the righteous Judge over all things. In this study, we look at the rapacious nature of sin and how it requires God's righteous intervention. God does not allow sin and its destructive power to go on indefinitely. He allows our experience and witness of evil to open our eyes and hearts to grieve over the ugliness and violence sin causes, so we can align our view of sin with His view.
Come join me as we explore more about Judgment and Hope in these two prophetic books.
