Description

Welcome friends! In this episode we have a frank discussion about how we are individually coming to terms with the chain reaction linking our triggers and our trauma, our minds and our bodies. We unpack our exhausting experiences and connect the dots; we now begin to see and appreciate how our trauma surfaces. Women speak from the heart of how we got to this point and the challenges we face day to day living with trauma. We have been often living in a bubble of feelings that we could not, measure, place, manage or verbalise. The process of healing and recovery is not an easy one, old feelings that were pushed down to protect us, we are now acknowledging them with love and care (when possible). It can be a natural response to shut out all these feelings with drink, drugs, stealing, gambling, sex, aggression, excessive compulsions such as cleaning…the list is truly endless but slowly we learn to recognise we are struggling and start listening to the pain that needs holding. Feeling crazy, weak, stupid is all normal and part of the old internal chatter we have developed. We have all realised it is important when we can, to embrace the loneliness, the hurting, sadness, terror, and anxiety and meet it with kindness, empathy and no judgement. We are the engine that will drive us into new pastures but not before we have pushed through mountainous terrain.  If you haven’t started, today can be the day you start to treat yourself like a child who is unwell and needs care and gentleness, the more unwell we feel the more rest and nurturing we give ourselves. Take care from us all x
