Today we talk openly about our experiences of abuse within our own families and communities, what messages did we learn about control and abuse. We know there is good and bad in society however many of the group felt their abuse was excepted and was inherently passed down to us. This discussion is the harsh reality of us women living in 2022 in London’s diverse communities. Are women’s voices really being heard? Has women’s roles really changed in society, are we really being heard when Domestic Abuse is named or are communities still living in denial and in shaming us?
Asian, British, African, Jamaican, Irish, Romany, Indian, Turkish, Afghan, Italian, European….. Globally.
We need to speak openly and stop saying, ‘We don’t have a problem’ . Yes, we do!!! Its called Violence Against Women- Misogyny
