In this Chapter, after Jesus told his disciples to pray for more workers in Chapter 9, He sends the disciples out to work in Chapter 10. Jesus sends the twelve out to minister only to the Jews (He will later send them to all nations in Matt 28:19). He instructed them not to take anything with them (this required faith on their part). They would be like sheep among wolves, they would be beaten and brought before kings in order to witness to them. He told them they would be hatted and called names. But he told them to fear not and bear their cross and don’t deny Him on Earth and He will not deny them in heaven.
