In Chapter 19, we learned the procedures the children of Israel had to do to make them clean and have their sins covered. Thank God that we don’t have to go through what they went thru! We only have to call on Jesus who cleans us and washes away all our sins. In Chapter 20 we see Moses’ disobedience caused him to miss out on going to the promised land. Additionally in this Chapter we see a relative of the Children of Israel refusing to allow them to pass thru their land (king of Edom). Edom will later pay for this mistake. In Moses striking the rock, one thing we can learn from this is that it is aways better to obey God and follow His instructions. God doesn’t always tell us the reasons behind what He tells us to do, but we should remember He sees and knows everything.
