Join Karaleigh in an interview with the "Happiness Quarterback" Treena Chabot.
Treena did what she thought she was supposed to do in life, but it didn’t feel the way it was supposed to feel. A career, kids, house, and spouse were not enough to make her happy. In her darkest hours, she decided not to end her life, even though she felt stuck and empty. Almost by accident, Treena realized it was up to her to change her future and give herself what was missing. She had to turn inward and reconnect to the true self that had been buried over the years. Treena grew in important ways and is now a supportive and insightful teacher for others in their life journey.
Favorite takeaways:
1. That was my biggest epiphany in life: I am the common denominator in my problems.
2. I was missing feeling that I was important no matter what. I didn’t have to do all these things to be important.
3. People make bad choices when they’re mad or scared or stressed. They are making bad choices because of their limitations, because they are scared. Am I?
4. Learning isn’t enough, we have to apply things and we’ve got to stretch ourselves out of our comfort zones to grow as a person.
5. There’s an interesting duality that comes with growth: you have to equally know that you are incredible as you are, you’re amazing just as you are right now, you’re so worthy. But also: you need to grow. You need to continue that upward trajectory to learn and grow and improve. We still have so much more potential even as we are amazing.
6. Your life purpose is not a destination, it is a path that you are on and it includes everything that happens to you and everything you learn and all the people that have something to teach you.
7. Allow yourself to have joy. Be yourself. Get back to not worrying what it’s going to look like or what other people think about you.
