Join Karaleigh in an interview with the insightful and resilient Devorah Kur.
Devorah works as an SEP (trauma therapist), Reflexologist, a clinical Logotherapist (meaning oriented) and Bereavement counselor. In her wellness clinic she also incorporates Mental Imagery which uses the mind to help us heal. She is passionate about helping people through their illnesses, challenges, and struggles in life and work to empower them to the wellbeing of their mind, body, and soul. Her forte is to help people ask, “What now?” instead of asking, " Why me?" Her book, 'Man's Search for Healing' explores how to be an active participant in your own healing journey with case studies and personal examples. A year ago she broke her neck and had the opportunity to 'walk the talk' to healing.
Favorite takeaways:
1. Within each of us we have this defined power of the human spirit to overcome difficulty and struggle. And even when outside circumstances are so challenging and so hard, we still have an opportunity to change ourselves, to change how we respond to hard things and difficulties.
2. Circumstances don’t make a man, they reveal him to himself.
3. Whatever I’m dealing with now- maybe I just haven’t given it enough time for the miracle to happen.
4. We don’t ask why me, we ask what now. We always have a choice. We can still choose how we will respond.
5. If you look deep into the ground underneath the oak, you’ll never find the acorn, because it has to disintegrate for the growth to take place. When a seed goes into the ground, if it wants to hold onto its identity in this way, then it’s just going to stay a seed. But it has to go through some kind of rotting process and disintegrate to become something bigger.
6. When we refuse to receive, we limit other people’s ability to give.
7. While you are incredible how you are right now, you deserve to grow.
