Today is a solo episode, where Karaleigh shares the story of the Monster party! Intrigued? Hopefully so! Today we discuss the deep, dark parts of ourselves we wish didn’t exist, what it really means to be your best self, and how you matter and have value no matter what.
Favorite takeaways:
1. We all have so much beauty to offer the world.
2. You can’t force it- forcing things never works anyway.
3. There’s a magic to being in alignment and being your best self.
4. No wonder I didn’t want to be shy! We’ve been taught our whole lives that being shy is bad, that it’s not good for you and you should overcome it, you should conquer it, and it’s not true.
5. However you are is ok. Whatever your personality is, it’s beautiful just the way that it is. And it’s really such a part of growing up and learning who you are and maturing to start going back and looking at your life and going oh, here’s who I really am. Here’s the parts of me that I was told that I was supposed to be and here’s the parts of me that are authentic.
6. We have to start to realizing that we don’t need to please people to be a good person, or to get love. I don’t have to be outgoing to be happy. There’s actually value in being shy- people will still love me, people will still listen to me, and I can still be seen even if I’m shy.
7. We all have monsters in our closets. We all have parts of ourselves that we’re ashamed of and that we wish would just go away, but the best way to live our lives and become our best selves is to embrace those monsters, to embrace all of ourselves, to give our full selves a seat at the table.
