Fran Wilson is a community organizer, activist, and lifelong Akronite running for City Council in Ward 1. A former Civil Rights Commissioner and regular presence at council meetings, Fran brings a grassroots approach focused on housing justice, police accountability, and civic engagement. If elected, they would become Akron’s first openly non-binary councilmember, representing neighborhoods like Highland Square, Downtown, and the University of Akron area.
