Watch this video to learn how to use negative keywords in Google Ads. It's an easy way to reduce the number of invalid clicks on your ads and increase your advertising campaign's efficiency.

While adding negative keywords to an ad group, should we directly exclude the search terms and add them as negative keywords exact match or should we mould the search terms and add them as phrase match negative keywords? I'm not quite sure what you are asking Swift Propel but what I'm trying to understand is okay, so the easiest and simplest answer is I don't know how you set up your campaign structure and the ad group structure. So if you are running your account, Okay, I'll talk about myself or our agency, we will have an account-level negative keywords list and either a campaign or an ad group-level negative list.

So if that ad group is let's say it's about iPhone, sell, buy iPhones, that ad group or that campaign is all about iPhones. So we are going to add Samsung, Google, Nokia and all those other brands in that campaign as negative keywords as phrase match or broad. Not exactly, because we don't want any of those search terms coming in here. If I had ad groups within that campaign iPhone 10, iPhone 12, iPhone 13. Then we are going to block the ones which are not in that ad group as the keyword. So if it's an ad group for iPhone 10, then all of the iPhone makes and models will be as negative keywords in that ad group. So only iPhone 10 gets triggered from the iPhone 10 ad group because that ad group will have the most relevant ad for those keywords. So I hope that makes sense for you.
