In this episode, Belle chats with former textile dyer and Executive VP of Fibre52, Graham Stewart. Graham has worked in the textile industry for over 40 years and found that the way cotton is processed and produced has not changed much at all. As a result of years of practice and application, Graham discovered a new, sustainable formula to process cotton that uses less heat, energy, water and time than any current method (called Fibre52). The Fibre52 recipe also uses gentle bioproducts instead of heavy, forever chemicals that contaminate water supplies around the world. On top of that, the process maintains the quality of cotton and can create durable, performance fabrics that are used in athletic wear.
Learn about the ecological and economical advancements of Fibre52 and how it’s revolutionizing the fashion industry. Plus, the meaning behind the name, R&D, Graham’s other favorite fibers, how brands can use Fibre52, patents for intellectual property, future plans for expanding into other product categories, textile recycling, the circular economy, and more!
