Myra's story includes dealing with her parents' divorce, finding out that her father is not her biological father, battling cancer, and going through medical school. Myra Mabry, a former OB-GYN, shares her journey into addiction and the consequences she faced. She started using opioids to manage migraines during medical school and residency. As her addiction progressed, she began writing prescriptions for herself and others, including her nurse with whom she had an affair. Myra lived a double life, excelling in her career while struggling with addiction. Eventually, she was arrested and sentenced to four and a half years in prison. Throughout her journey, Myra experienced the support of her family and the White Collar Support Group. Myra Mabry reflects on her time in prison and the lessons she learned. She realized that no matter the circumstances, she would be okay. She adapted to the challenges and found ways to stay positive and motivated. Myra lost everything, but she gained a new perspective on what is truly important in life.
