I'm of the belief that if you're a storyteller (writer, filmmaker, etc) and your goal is to do longer form storytelling, at a certain you'll have to take the leap. For example, writing short stories teaches you a lot. All things that will benefit you for writing a novel. Yet, writing a novel requires more of you.
