In this episode, we hear about Hannah who longed to have a child. It is not a spectacular story, but an account of domestic life, politics, and the toil of her waiting. We learn a lot about Hannah’s character, how she was faithful over many years of crying out to God to bless her and trusted the sovereignty of God totally. Hannah must have been so happy to give birth to Samuel, but she had promised him to go into the Lord’s service and was able to sacrifice him joyfully and with prayer and rejoicing.
