Clinical psychology students and newly minted doctoral interns Joseph and Sarah return to discuss the first three episodes of Gabby and Rachel’s journey(s) to find love! We analyze how the new format inherently elicits self-doubt and comparison by upending the show’s established power dynamics, assess the most promising romantic connections, and contextualize the show's history with misogyny. We also reexamine how Gabby’s insecure attachment to her mother continues to inform her perceptions of herself and her relationships with others, and highlight her potential to empower viewers who have flourished despite adverse early childhood experiences.
