W.E.B. Du Bois was an influential African American rights activist, author, speaker, sociologist, educator and the first African American to receive a Ph.D from Harvard University. He was a true bulldozer for change throughout the early 20th century. He co-founded the NAACP and spear headed a school of thought that challenged the way whites viewed black people.
