An Elul practice is to read through the Psalms in 40 days, finishing on Yom Kippur.
In Jewish understanding, Psalms are said to be a great medicine for anger, impatience, lust, fear, sadness and whatever are the opposites of the 9 Fruits of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5. Therefore, let's find them, JOY, LOVE, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, GENTLENESS, FAITHFULNESS & SELF-CONTROL via the Psalms.

Read everyday one (1) chapter from the book of Mishlei (Proverbs) starting Rosh Chodesh Elul (30th of Av – ל׳ מנחם אב) till Rosh Hashana, including Rosh Hashana
