Talkin’ God with Uncle Luke
Luke 21:5-24
Jesus is a Jew. So when he says the temple will be destroyed, it is no small thing. Israel’s land and temple had been the center of God’s story to Jesus day. Why is he so calm about its destruction? Because he has something bigger and better. Wars and natural disasters will not destroy God’s new temple that God is making for Jew and Gentile to join together in fellowship. The time of the Gentiles will be a comic tragedy like Israel, but what we mean for evil, God uses for his good. He is the hero of his epic!
