The work of the Holy Spirit is made plain and simple when Uncle Peter gives a big Bible talk. The work of the Holy Spirit is to make dumb people smart to what God is doing in this world by bringing you to Jesus, the Word of God. When people respond to Jesus, they gather around the apostles teaching, fellowship, break bread and pray together. That is church, plain and simple.
