I have an amazing blessing/curse that no matter where I go or what I am doing, I see a life lesson involved. I drove past a student driver and immediately thought about what a great lesson that kid was getting to experience such a high level of discomfort and what that might do for him/her later in life.
I recently climbed a mountain, made some videos along the way, and took a bunch of notes after the climb to reflect on what parallels there are to life and pursuing growth in our marriage, career, and overall mental wellness and fulfillment in life. Here are a few of them:
-You can do hard things! Don’t believe it, just look at your life to this point let alone the year 2020.
-Success can be a lonely road and even your family may not support you in your dreams
- Having the right equipment can go a long way in life
- Nobody ever regrets doing hard things after they accomplish it
- Reaching any goal in life is about all the small steps not the giant leaps
- You have to celebrate yourself and your work along the way to maintain momentum
- The path to the end goal is always a straight line, avoid feelings of defeat when it seems you aren’t making progress. Keep your eyes on the big picture. You will get there if you keep stepping
