In the first episode of Black with Blue Passports, our hosts, Javier Wallace and Devin Walker, reflect on their experiences with internationalization. From studying abroad, to blackpacking, to working abroad, to leading students abroad, Big Javi and Dr. Walker highlight the ways in which their lives and identities as Black men have been shaped by their international experiences.
Javier is a PhD Candidate at The University of Texas at Austin. He’s committed to stopping basketball trafficking. He’s also the founder of Black Austin Tours and co-founder of AfroLatinx Travel.
Devin Walker, PH.D is a post-doctoral fellow at UT-Austin where he directs the Office of Global Leadership and Social Impact. He is also the CEO/ Founder of the WorldWalker Foundation and is passionate about helping Black and Brown youth learn about themselves and the world through global engagements.
