Description

How many of you remember growing up and hearing something like this from your parents?

You better find something to do, I’ll find something for you to do.

You knew that you were on the short end of the stick. You needed to find something productive to do and fast.

I’m glad our Heavenly Father is different from our earthly parents. Our ways of doing things are different from His ways. God in his wisdom and sovereignty gives us instructions in his word that tells us exactly what he wants to do.

Oftentimes the problem is not that we are ignorant of what God wants, but we still substitute what we think he wants for what he actually wants.We’ve been told what he wants, but oftentimes we need a reminder.

Micah 6:6-8

“With what shall I come before the Lord,

 and bow myself before God on high?

Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,

 with calves a year old?

Will the Lord be pleased with[a] thousands of rams,

 with ten thousands of rivers of oil?

Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,

 the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”

He has told you, O man, what is good;

 and what does the Lord require of you

but to do justice, and to love kindness,

 and to walk humbly with your God?
