Jason Tremblay is back to help me do another re-draft, this one we skip ahead 19 years and do the 2008 NHL re-draft. This was one of the most hyped drafts in league history, as it was the first one to receive the "could be as good as 2003" moniker. It was extremely good...but not the 1st round. If you look back at just the 1st round, this draft wildly underachieves. However, it makes up for it in rounds 2-7 and so it is a fun one to re-draft. In fact, it might be more fun for me to do the ones that I truly lived because I remember everything from the draft and have watched all these kids careers as an adult, so I probably have less generic and more authentic takes than I would in other shows as I'm much more confident in my opinons. Plus, one of the reasons Jason and I picked 08 is that it was a draft we watched together! So we really know our stuff on this one, plus we have a lot of good stories to tell both from the draft and watching the players throughout their careers. With everything going on in the world right now, I just hope this can serve as a bit of a distraction for a few hours. Hope you enjoy!
